NC Strongest is back! 

We're back at the Cabarrus Arena as part of the NC BodyArmor State Games.


Weigh-ins


Weigh-in / Check-in is mandatory for all competitors. 

The scale will be set to kilos (kg) and placed directly on concrete floor. 

(weigh ins are at the venue 10:00am - 6:00pm on Friday and 8:00am - 9:00am on Saturday.)


Awards & Prizes


• Top 3 in each class will receive high-quality custom medals.

• If there are 5+ athletes in a class, 1st place will also receive free or reimbursed entry to OSG Mid-Atlantic Regional or OSG Southeast Regional. ($150 value)


Events

Log Clean & Press

  • Event Details
  • Weights

Athlete will clean and press a log from pads to overhead for max reps within 60 sec time limit.

• Athletes will compete head-to-head (2 lanes).

• 60 second time limit.

• Total reps completed is your score.

• Athlete begins at a starting line.

• Athlete must wait for judge’s command to receive a good rep.

• No lift will count unless a down signal is received from the judge.

• To receive the down command, feet must be in line with each other and head must be in line with the arms. Elbow, knees, and hips must be locked out and stable.

• Each rep must begin from the pads.

• Log is not allowed to touch or rest on the athletes head. 

• No straps, hooks, tacky, tack towels, or grip shirts allowed.

• No built up belts or loose prong/buckles in the front.

Timber Frame Carry

Athlete will carry a Timber Frame down a 50ft course within a 60 sec time limit.

• Athletes will compete head-to-head (2 lanes).

• 60 second time limit.

• Time and total distance completed is your score.

• Time stops when both feet of the Timber Frame break the line.

• Athlete begins inside the Timber Frame.

• Unlimited drops allowed.

• No grip shirts allowed.

Max Hummer Tire Deadlift

  • Event Details
  • Weights

Athlete will have 3 attempts to deadlift as much weight as possible. 

• Each attempt will have a 30 second time limit.

• Weight of the heaviest successful lift is your score.

• Custom 10ft long Kabuki Strength Deadlift Bar will be used.

• Athlete begins at a starting line.

• Athlete is allowed to skip a weight jump. 

• If an athlete fails an attempt, they are done.

• Athlete must wait for judge’s command to receive a good rep.

• No lift will count unless a down signal is received from the judge.

• To receive the down command, athlete must demonstrate full lockout with their hips and knees locked out, and their shoulders neutral.

• You are NOT ALLOWED to drop the bar from lockout. Your knees and/or hips must unlock before you let go. Judge will have discretion to remove a good lift due to letting go of the bar from lockout.

• Conventional stance only. Hands must be outside of feet and knees.

• No deadlift suits or powerlifting briefs allowed.

• No baby powder, oils, or any other friction aid is allowed to be applied to your legs.

• Lifting straps and chalk are the only grip aids allowed.

*Note: Opening weights will change slightly based on weighing tires and bar together. We'll update closer to the competition.

Sandbag Steeplechase

  • Event Details
  • Weights

Athlete will carry a series of 2 sandbags 25ft and load over a bar. The athlete will then run around or below the bar and proceed to carry the sandbags 25ft and load onto a platform within 60 sec time limit.

• Athletes will compete head-to-head (2 lanes).

• 60 second time limit.

• Time and number of bags loaded over bar or on platform is your score.

• Time stops when the last sandbag is loaded to the platform and the athlete’s hands are off.

• If an athlete is unable to finish loading both sandbags on the platform, split times will be taken at each sandbag load.

• Athlete begins on a line.

• Gloves and chalk are allowed.

• No grip shirts allowed.

• Bar and platform height will be 48in.

Husafell Carry

Athlete will carry a Hi-Temp Husafell Stone back and forth across a 50ft course for max distance with 90 sec time limit.

• Athletes will compete head-to-head (2 lanes).

• 90 second time limit.

• Total distance completed is your score.

• Athlete begins touching the Hi-Temp Husafell Stone. 

• Athlete is allowed to turn at 50ft only when the athlete crosses the line or a foot breaks the line.

• No drops allowed.

• No grip shirts allowed.
